Dear Friends,
July 1, 2025, was a pivotal moment for us. I like to think of it not as a starting point or finishing line but as a launching pad for us to establish Syracuse University as “the” (not “a”) leader in research, education, and innovation to shape the future of sport.
The sport industry is rapidly growing, and as we fully reimagine the David B. Falk College of Sport, we are focused on three priorities that will keep us at the forefront of this evolving landscape: redefining our student experience; elevating our reputation through knowledge creation and thought leadership; and expanding our industry partnerships.
Those three priorities are brought to life with the stories in the first edition of Falk College News, our new College of Sport quarterly email newsletter. In mid-September, we celebrated the launch of the Falk College of Sport on campus, where we welcomed the University Board of Trustees, Falk College of Sport Advisory Board and Emerging Leaders Council, University leaders, and College faculty and staff. It was an opportunity to celebrate the strong foundation from which we started and an occasion for me to share our vision for the future. Check out some highlights from our Kickoff Celebration.
Earlier this semester, I spoke on ’Cuse Conversations, the University’s official podcast, to highlight the newly reimagined Falk College of Sport, and our areas of impact (Sport Business, Human Performance, Technology and Innovation, and Sport for Good/Community Sport and Wellness). This college, OUR Falk College of Sport, is embarking on an exciting journey. July 1 was only the beginning. I hope you will not serve as merely a spectator. My aspiration is for you to be a champion for Falk College and Syracuse University.
