Biography
Jeremy S. Jordan was appointed Dean of Falk College in September 2023, and leads the academic departments of exercise science, nutrition and food studies, sport analytics and sport management.Jordan, a seasoned academic with extensive experience in sport and recreation management, previously served as vice provost for faculty affairs at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he was also a professor and Ed Rosen Senior Research Fellow in the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management’s Department of Sport and Recreation Management. He was the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative, and former director of the Sport Industry Research Center.
Jordan’s research focuses on the impact of sport participation and events on individuals and communities, and the social, environmental, and financial impact of sport events and organizations. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has participated in more than 65 funded research projects. In 2013 Jordan was recognized by the North American Society for Sport Management as a Research Fellow.
Before joining Temple in 2008, Jordan held faculty positions at the University of Miami, Mississippi State University, and the University of Memphis, and served as athletic director at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He earned a Ph.D. in sport management from The Ohio State University, a master’s degree in exercise and sport science from the University of Utah, and a bachelor’s degree in physical education from La Sierra.
